Your date is bound to take it as a big negative, especially if she or he has been waiting for long. Being on time is a big turn-on. The other thing that can spoil your impression is bragging. Bragging spoils moods and is extremely annoying. Let your date find out if you are really good. And don’t ever keep staring at your date.

Too much of negative talk is liable to annoy the other person as well and spoil the evening. However, preparing for a first date need not be a nerve-wrecking experience. We are usually too conscious and also expect too much from a date. Do not let your high expectations make you do things that you actually did not intend to. Let the evening progress by itself. It is better that you be what you actually are while taking care not to reveal too much.

There is a flip side to going out of the way to make a first impression, especially if you want it to develop into a long lasting relationship. It may get you another date with the same person, even more than one. But remember that you will not be able to hide what you actually are for long.

A good first impression after all is only about your physical appearance and what you reveal about yourself. It is fine if it is a casual date. But, if you are serious and harbor a desire for a long term relationship, make sure to act your normal self. Trying too much may make a mess of everything.

Every one of us wants to how to make a good first impression without realizing that it depends more upon the other person. You may dress up to make an impression of a Prince Charming and it may turn out that your date does not give any importance to physical appearance.

Creating an impression is a two way street. Good behavior, good dress sense and communication skills go a long way to show you in good light. A good sense of humor is also a big plus for positive first impressions but if you are making a conscious effort you are not likely to succeed.
